The Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development is seeking to provide citizens who have become displaced as a result of structural, economic or technological issues with access to viable income generation opportunities as well as encourage personal development. The Ministry is proactively responding to the current economic situation by seeking to enhance its current approach to workforce development to optimally assist those persons in need.

The Ministry has recognized its integral role in the establishment of a sustainable system that will allow for displaced persons in the country to be re-assimilated into the workforce/or seize opportunities to be self-employed. This framework represents the Ministry’s on-going commitment to working effectively with our primary stakeholders, Trinidad and Tobago workforce, and the desire to continue to improve the quality of life of our citizens.

The Framework leverages on the current partnership with other stakeholders, seeks to build a stronger synergistic relationship that will allow for the effective development of the workforce as well as streamlining/data management of labour force information.
